Electronic Instrumentation and Control Engineering program was started in 1999 with an intake of 60 students. The department aims at producing engineers who are competent to cope with the emerging technological advances. The curriculum is drafted keeping in mind the major advances in the field of Instrumentation Engineering. The first Batch of students will be passing out in the year 2003.

Automation in industry needs sophisticated instrumentation for measurement, recording and control. Keeping this in mind the department is fully equipped with laboratories on Transducers and Control Systems, Instrumentation & Process Control, and Computer Control Instrumentation.

This Department was headed by Prof. R. Sarveswara Prasad. Born on 20-03-1967 ( a 4 year integrated programme after 10+2 ) M.Sc (Tech) in Instrumentation from Birla Institute of Science & Technolgy, Pilani ( Rajasthan) in 1988, M. Tech in Instrumentation Engineering in 1994 from national Institute of Technology (NIT), Kurukshetra. After working as engineer (development) in Electronics division at a very iIndia Ltd., Ballabgarh for nearly five years, he worned as Engineer (SC) Electronics at Institute for plasma research, Ahmedabad for one year. After working in Industry for sin years, he joined as Lecturer in Electronics & Instrumentation Engineering department at Kakatiya Institute of Technology& Science , Warangal and worked for one year. After that he worned as Assistant Professor in Electronics & Instrumentation Engineering department at Bapatla Engineering College for nearly 4 years. Presently he is working as Professor and Head, department of Electronic Instrumentation & Control Engineering at NBKR Institute of Science& Technology, Vidyanagar since 2001.

In NBKRIST he held various positions like Board of Studies member of S.V. University, Faculty Advisor of ISTE Student Chapter, Secretary of ISTE Chapter, Management representation for ISO 9001-2000, Coordinator for Faculty Development Programme etc.,
