Recognizing the overwhelming demand for computer engineering education, the Institute started the 4 year B.Tech course in Computer Science and Engineering in 1991 with an intake of 30, now grown to 60.The computer laboratory has systems with latest configuration. It has a LAN environment operating with Novell Netware, Windows XP and Linux. All the three environments are connected and operating with TCP/IP Protocol. All language processors needed by the undergraduate curriculum are supported by Netware, Windows and Linux environments. With the objective of being responsive to industry's needs, the course goes beyond fulfilling the syllabus requirements of the University and offers students opportunities to work on the different hardware and software platforms prevalent in industry.

             Recently department has setup English language Laboratory, IT work shop to provide central computing & learning facilities to the all branches. Various labs consisting of 460 Systems are connected with OFC Based LAN.

              Computer Center also Provides e-library for supplementing class room teaching with lessons Captured through ekalavya channel. Internet of 1 Mbps Bandwidth is provided for the campus including hostels. In addition there is an exclusive laboratory for Internet that works from 8.30 am to 8 pm. Departments has it's own library to cater needs of students.

This Department was headed by P.Kiran Sree. P. Kiran Sree received his B.Tech in Computer Science & Engineering, from J.N.T.U and M.E in Computer Science & Engineering from Anna University. He is pursuing Ph.D in Computer Science from J.N.T.U, Hyderabad. His areas of interests include Cellular Automata, Parallel Algorithms, Artificial Intelligence, and Compiler Design. He was the reviewer for many International Journals and IEEE Society Conferences on Artificial Intelligence & Image Processing.

He has 8+ years of experience in teaching to engineering students. He has published 30+ technical papers both in international journals and conferences. He was selected as a candidate for inclusion in continental WHO’S WHO (Scientists), U.S.A 2010.He also organized three international conferences and six national conferences.

He was also named in many International Technical Committees. He was the Associate Editor for six international journals. He was also invited speaker and organizing chairman for special sessions in WSEAS international conferences. He is the member of C.S.I (India), ICST (Europe), IACSIT (Singapore) and IAENG (U.S.A). Some of his technical paper's abstracts were published in renowned Indian Science journal. He was also listed in ICGST and ACM. He is now Head of the Department of C.S.E & Chief Coordinator for IIP Cell at N.B.K.R.Istitute of Science & Technology, Vidyanagar.
