The Department of Science & Humanitiesis, a multidisciplinary department, was established in the year 1979. The department started functioning with a team of dedicated faculty members. It plays a vital role in grooming the students with basic knowledge of sciences and humanities. It has 27 dedicated faculty members including 20 PhD holders.The courses offered by it are Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry, English, Economics and Environmental science.

Emphasis on practical education coupled with strong concept-oriented teaching-learning process has been the backbone of the department ever since its inception. The excellent infrastructure is further an added advantage. The department has four well established laboratories with excellent natural lighting and ventilation. All the laboratories are well maintained by technically qualified personnel. During the practical classes, every student is trained to individually handle and use the equipment in all the laboratories to get complete hands-on experience.

The teaching staff of the department is also encouraged to attend seminars, conferences, workshops, and short-term training programs. And further, they are are also supervising PhD scholars at present. The department of Science and Humanities looks after Admissions, Physical Education, Library, NSS, NCC for both boys and girls in both Armed and Novel wings. It also organizes clubs like Literary Club, Language Club, Cultural Club and Painting Club.
